Busch Vacuum

Busch is a company that builds and sells vacuum pumps worldwide. They came to us with a CI manual that contained almost exclusively guidelines for print products. Our job was to translate the corporate design for digital products, and deliver a website redesign and a pattern library.

I owned the entire UI side of the project, while also partially working on content structure and wireframing. Additionally I was a constant consultant to the customer, presenting designs and discussing decisions with stakeholders once or twice a week for several months.

The result is a pattern library based on Brad Frost’s Atomic Design principle, and a website design that is currently being implemented and should be live by autumn 2020. The most challenging part of the project was making the very content-heavy technical parts of the site easy to understand and visually appealing. Amongst others, there is a complicated product finder and product comparison page, which were a UX challenge I was happy to take on.
