Villa la Collina

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung

The Villa la Collina belongs to Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, a client we were working with long-term. The KAS had received an all around redesign from us, but certain sub groups like the Villa la Collina team felt that the site templates weren’t working for them. The Villa la Collina is a an event hotel in Italy and wanted to represent their classy and welcoming nature, so they asked us to personalize their page.

I decided to rely heavily on the selection of stunning photographs of the villa to transport the feeling and the appeal of the place to the users. I also added a serif font to the mix, based on the wish of the manager of the villa to give the site an elegant and sophisticated flair. Aside from the pictures the site kept to a clean look with lots of white space. The white cards carrying the introduction to each page are reminiscent of table or business cards and move up slightly upwards when the user starts scrolling, to move into the focus zone of the screen faster.
